Jay Blair

Jay’s always had a wide variety of musical interests and tastes. In the early 80’s, new wave artists such as Duran Duran and Devo to pop icons Michael Jackson, Madonna & Lionel Richie molded his tastes. In the 90’s, he took a tour thru his rock & roll obsession, gravitating towards the grunge & punk sound that monopolized his stereo thru most of his adolescence. It was not until the fall of ’99 that Jay rediscovered a sound that he had missed since his childhood, that sound was HOUSE music. He always enjoyed the sounds of artists like Robin S. & Crystal Waters, but he never knew what their sound was called. After witnessing the energy at his first rave, he knew he wanted to do what the man behind the decks was doing…getting the dance floor MOVIN’!
 
Late in 2003 He started his first night club venture in Ventura with the club “Foundations”. After about a year and a half Jay decided it was time to move on to bigger and better things. In 2005 he joined up with Joplin and held a residency at her club DELAY in Venice Beach. It wasn't’t until summer of ’06 that Jay finally made the move back to L.A. and finally went into business with an old friend of his Alejandro Quintero to start MOVIN’ along with William “Reel Soul” Rodriguez. In the few short months since the creation of MOVIN’ he has opened for some of the best parties and biggest names in House, Frankie Feliciano, Mr. V, Alix Alvarez and his own business partner, William “Reel Soul” Rodriquez. Keep an eye on this kid…he’s just getting warmed up. And that’s a good thing.
